Martin’s Relais

Located in the heart of the city, this market square is a popular people-watching and meeting spot. Lined with historical buildings – including the famous belfry – restaurants and cafes, a market is still held in the square every Sunday.

One of the city’s most prominent landmarks, this medieval bell tower situated on the Grote Markt is well worth a visit. Standing 83 metres tall, marvel at its 47 melodious bells and scale its 366 steps to enjoy beautiful city views. Don’t forget to take a breather on your way up and visit the old treasury.

One of the oldest city halls in the Low Countries, the city has been governed from this historic building for more than 600 years. A fine example of Gothic Architecture, history buffs will enjoy the interesting museum exhibitions housed in the Gothic Hall and Historic Hall.
