Warwick Geneva Environmental Policy

Introduction
Warwick Geneva is committed to integrating its hotel heritage with modern sustainability practices. Aware of its environmental impact, the hotel pursues a proactive policy to preserve natural resources while ensuring the comfort and satisfaction of its guests. Commitment to sustainability is a cornerstone of our strategy, leading us to achieve Green Globe certification, a testament to our commitment to responsible and ethical management.

Our Vision
Warwick Geneva strives to preserve its heritage while remaining aligned with contemporary challenges. Through a sustainable development model, the hotel is committed to protecting our planet, its people, and its heritage. All our operational decisions are guided by a deep respect for the environment and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Below are our key development priorities for the coming years.

Key Development Areas

1. Governance and Integration of Sustainability
Our commitment to sustainability is embedded at every level of the hotel, from management to each staff member. This approach is structured around several key pillars, including continuous staff training, the integration of environmental best practices, and transparent communication with our guests.

2. Environmental Management
To reduce our ecological footprint, we have implemented various initiatives to optimize energy and water consumption, reduce waste, and promote the use of sustainable materials. Key actions include:

  • Energy: Use of renewable energy and installation of smart systems to optimize consumption (smart thermostats, motion sensors). Following our energy audit, we will implement a heat recovery system on our cooling units, enabling us to reduce natural gas consumption for domestic hot water, with an expected reduction of 2%. Fixed-flow pumps will be replaced with variable-speed pumps, with an anticipated electricity reduction of 1–3% over four years.
  • Water: Reduction of consumption through the installation of water-saving devices such as flow reducers. Our objective is a 2% decrease in water consumption.
  • Waste: We support a selective waste sorting policy, the gradual elimination of single-use plastics, and collaborate with local companies to ensure effective recycling. Waste is monitored and measured as part of our continuous improvement approach.

3. Socio-Cultural Commitment
The hotel places strong emphasis on social inclusion and support for the local community:

  • Local employment: We prioritize hiring local staff.
  • Local partnerships: Collaboration with local producers for our restaurant, ensuring seasonal products sourced from sustainable practices.
  • Social inclusion: Support for local initiatives such as “Youth for Soap,” contributing to the reuse of end-of-life products for people in need.
  • Social partnerships: We develop and maintain close collaborations with companies and associations engaged in professional reintegration. We welcome interns, support them in their training, and, whenever possible, offer employment opportunities as part of a sustainable reintegration approach.

4. Training and Awareness
Warwick Geneva invests in the continuous training of its staff to promote a culture of eco-responsibility. Regular sessions are organized to raise awareness of environmental issues and to equip employees with the tools to apply these practices in their daily work.

5. Certification and Monitoring
We are committed to an annual audit to measure our progress and adjust our strategies accordingly. The Green Team, composed of key members from various departments, oversees the implementation of actions and regularly evaluates the effectiveness of initiatives.

6. Conclusion
Warwick Geneva positions itself as a responsible player in Geneva’s hospitality sector, striving to make its operations as sustainable as possible. We are proud of our commitment to more environmentally and socially responsible tourism.

Through the involvement of our team and strong partnerships with local stakeholders, we continue to improve our practices within a sustainable development approach.
