  • Moving Towards the 21st Century

Warwick International Hotels was launched in 1980. Known for its unique management style, the Warwick group has expanded quickly throughout the world, establishing a reputation for superior accommodation and service in leading business and leisure destinations.

Soon after the purchase of the Warwick New York Hotel, Warwick International established a foothold in Europe with the acquisition of the Hotel Warwick-Champs Elysées in Paris, just off the famous Parisian avenue. Other acquisitions quickly followed: The Royal Windsor Hotel Grand Place in Brussels, a member of "The Leading Hotels of the World", is steps from the Grand Place and the Hôtel Westminster in Paris is ideally located on the prestigious rue de la Paix between Place Vendôme and Opéra. The Hotel Warwick Geneva, acquired in 1982, provides a perfect central location near Lake Geneva.

During the 80's, additional expansion began in the United States with the opening of the Warwick Seattle Hotel and the Warwick Denver Hotel, both ideally located in the city centres. In 2000, the Warwick Denver Hotel underwent a complete US$23 million renovation and upgrade.

From a solid base in America and Western Europe, Warwick expanded into the leisure market. The acquisition of a modern resort on the Coral Coast of Fiji became the Warwick Fiji Resort & Spa. The success of this project spurred further expansion in Fiji and the nearby Naviti Resort was acquired. This tropical oasis along with the neighbouring Warwick Fiji Resort & Spa, provide a unique experience for travellers.

Entering into the 90's, the Warwick San Francisco Hotel was added. It is also centrally located, just off newly restored Union Square and was fully renovated in 2002, featuring English antiques.

The 1990's also marked a new direction for Warwick with the introduction of an Affiliate Hotel Programme. Numerous independent hotels throughout the world have embraced this concept. The number of affiliate member hotels and resorts, now over 26, has grown threefold in just four years with hotels and resorts in France, Great Britain, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Czech Republic, Switzerland, The netherlands, Tunisia and South Africa.

Warwick International Hotels and Resorts provide marketing, sales, and private label reservation services to qualified independent hotels seeking worldwide recognition. The ability to effectively market independent hotels on a worldwide basis has contributed to the rapid growth of the programme. Celebrated in their own markets, Warwick International Hotels, Mirvac Hotels and Resorts and Gloria Hotels & Resorts, three of the world’s most esteemed hotel collections, have joined together in 2006 to form the International Hospitality Alliance (IHA).
