1. Governance and Sustainability Integration
Our commitment to sustainable development is embedded at every level of the hotel, from senior management to every member of our team. This commitment is supported through continuous staff training, the implementation of environmental best practices, and transparent communication with our guests.
Our Eco Committee, made up of representatives from every department, meets monthly to oversee, coordinate, and evaluate all sustainability initiatives across the hotel.
2. Environmental Management
To reduce our environmental footprint, we have implemented a range of initiatives designed to optimize energy and water consumption, minimize waste, and promote the use of sustainable materials.
- Energy: Use of renewable energy sources whenever possible. Installation of smart energy management systems, including intelligent thermostats and motion sensors. A heat recovery system connected to our refrigeration equipment reduces natural gas consumption for domestic hot water production. Our objectives are to reduce electricity consumption by 5% in 2026 and achieve a 50% reduction in CO₂e emissions by 2030.
- Water: Installation of water-saving devices, including low-flow fixtures, to reduce water consumption. Our objective is to reduce water consumption by 2%.
- Waste: Comprehensive waste separation and recycling programme. Progressive elimination of single-use plastics. Partnerships with local recycling companies to ensure efficient waste recovery.
Waste volumes are monitored and measured as part of our continuous improvement process.
3. Social and Community Engagement
Hotel Westminster is committed to supporting both the local community and social inclusion through a variety of initiatives.
- Local Employment: We prioritize local recruitment and support professional reintegration by creating employment opportunities whenever possible.
- Local Partnerships: We work closely with local producers and suppliers for our restaurants, favouring seasonal products sourced through sustainable practices.
- Social Inclusion: We proudly support Les Hôtels Solidaires, a charitable organisation that collects unused hospitality amenities and hotel equipment for redistribution to people in need.
- Education and Professional Development: We welcome interns and trainees, supporting them throughout their learning journey and, whenever possible, offering long-term employment opportunities within the hotel.
4. Training and Awareness
Hotel Westminster invests in the continuous development of its employees to foster a culture of environmental responsibility and safety. Regular training sessions are organised to raise awareness of environmental challenges, sustainable working practices, workplace safety, first aid, and fire prevention.
5. Certification and Performance Monitoring
We are committed to conducting an annual audit to measure our progress and continuously improve our sustainability strategy.
Our Eco Committee oversees the implementation of all environmental initiatives and regularly evaluates their effectiveness.
Performance indicators are recorded in our 2026–2030 Carbon Management Plan, which is updated on a monthly basis.
6. Our Commitment
