Sustainability policy

Introduction
At Warwick Reine Astrid – Lyon, we are evolving our practices responsibly, while remaining true to our identity and attentive to current environmental and social challenges. On our own scale, we are gradually committing to a sustainable development approach aimed at reducing our environmental impact, while respecting the people and heritage around us.

Our Vision
In a constantly changing world, Warwick Reine Astrid relies on strong foundations where hospitality, comfort, and the warm atmosphere of the residence are not only our strengths, but the very essence of our business.

Our ambition today is to combine these values with our commitment to addressing one of the major challenges of our time: sustainable development. Preserving natural resources, contributing to people’s well-being, and limiting our environmental impact are essential objectives for both current and future generations.
This policy is part of our sustainability management plan and guides all our actions, decisions, and investments.

1. Management and Sustainability
Our commitment to sustainable development is reflected at every level of the residence, from management to each member of staff.
It is based on several key principles:
•    Integrating sustainable development principles into our strategy and daily operations;
•    Setting measurable objectives and regularly monitoring our performance;
•    Involving all employees in our approach;
•    Communicating transparently with our guests, partners, and other stakeholders;
•    Continuously improving our environmental, social, and economic practices.

2. Environmental Management
Warwick Reine Astrid is committed to reducing its environmental footprint by addressing the main impacts related to its activities.

Energy
We are committed to:
•    Optimising our energy consumption through more efficient equipment;
•    Implementing, in the short term, motion sensors in common areas to optimise energy consumption and reduce unnecessary light pollution;
•    Raising awareness among employees and guests about eco-friendly practices that help reduce consumption.

Water
We are committed to:
•    Regularly monitoring our water consumption;
•    Equipping our facilities with water-saving devices such as flow reducers;
•    Detecting and quickly addressing any potential leaks;
•    Achieving an annual objective of reducing water consumption by 2%.

Waste and Circular Economy
As a serviced residence with kitchens in its apartments, we pay particular attention to waste management.
We are committed to:
•    Encouraging waste sorting among guests and employees;
•    Gradually reducing single-use plastics;
•    Developing partnerships with local organisations to promote recycling and waste recovery;
•    Prioritising solutions that help reduce waste at the source.

Responsible Purchasing
We are committed to:
•    Prioritising local suppliers and producers whenever relevant;
•    Promoting seasonal products and those sourced from responsible practices;
•    Incorporating environmental and social criteria into our purchasing decisions;
•    Choosing sustainable materials and equipment.

3. Social and Cultural Commitment
Warwick Reine Astrid believes that sustainability also relies on its positive impact on the local community.

Employment and Inclusion
We are committed to:
•    Promoting local employment;
•    Supporting professional reintegration initiatives;
•    Encouraging equal opportunities and diversity within our teams.

Local Partnerships
We are committed to:
•    Working with local producers and service providers;
•    Continuing our collaboration with MMIE to support people in professional reintegration;
•    Contributing to the economic vitality of the local area.

Social Inclusion
As a signatory of the Charte des 1000, we implement several actions every year to promote inclusion in its various forms and support access to employment for people who are distant from the labour market.

4. Training and Awareness
The success of our approach relies on everyone’s involvement.
That is why we are committed to:
•    Regularly training our employees on sustainable development issues;
•    Raising awareness among teams about good environmental and social practices;
•    Encouraging internal initiatives that promote eco-responsibility;
•    Informing our guests about our commitments and the actions they can take during their stay.

5. Certification and Monitoring
To ensure the effectiveness of our approach, we have implemented a system for regularly monitoring our performance.
We are committed to:
•    Conducting an annual review of our practices;
•    Monitoring environmental, social, and economic performance indicators;
•    Defining and updating our improvement objectives;
•    Communicating the results achieved to the relevant stakeholders.
The Green Committee, made up of representatives from several departments of the residence, oversees the implementation of the sustainability plan, coordinates the actions undertaken, and regularly assesses their effectiveness.
