Our environmental policy

Introduction

Warwick Grand-Place Brussels is committed to combining its rich hotel heritage with modern sustainability practices. Aware of its environmental impact, the hotel pursues a proactive policy aimed at preserving natural resources while ensuring the comfort and satisfaction of its guests. Sustainability is a core pillar of our strategy, which has led us to obtain Green Globe certification, a testament to our commitment to responsible and ethical management.

Our Vision

Warwick Grand-Place Brussels strives to preserve its heritage while addressing contemporary challenges. Through a sustainable development model, the hotel is committed to protecting our planet, its people, and its cultural heritage. All our operational decisions are guided by deep respect for the environment and a continuous improvement mindset.

Governance and Integration of Sustainability

Our commitment to sustainable development is embedded at all levels of the hotel, from management to every member of staff. This approach is structured around several key pillars, including regular staff awareness and information, the integration of environmental best practices, and transparent communication with our guests.

Environmental Management

In order to reduce our ecological footprint, we have implemented various initiatives to optimize energy and water consumption, reduce waste, and promote the use of sustainable materials. Key actions include:

- Energy: Use of renewable energy sources and installation of smart systems to optimize energy consumption (smart thermostats, motion sensors).

- Water: Reduction of water consumption through the installation of water-saving devices such as flow restrictors. Our objective is a 2% reduction in water consumption.

- Waste: Selective waste sorting policy, gradual elimination of single-use plastics, and partnerships with local companies to ensure efficient recycling.

- Sustainable materials: Introduction of everlasting wooden pencils in guest rooms and workspaces — an eco-friendly and durable alternative to traditional pencils that helps reduce the use of non-renewable resources.

Socio-Cultural Engagement

The hotel places particular emphasis on social inclusion and support for the local community:

- Local employment: We prioritize the recruitment of local staff and offer opportunities for professional reintegration.

- Local partnerships: Collaboration with local and Belgian producers for our food and beverage services, ensuring seasonal products sourced from sustainable practices. From a cultural perspective, Warwick Grand-Place Brussels is proud to collaborate with a Brussels-based art gallery, showcasing local artists within its public spaces.

- Social inclusion: Warwick Grand-Place regularly works with local employment support organizations that assist long-term job seekers, young people facing school dropout, and individuals from immigrant backgrounds in their professional integration.

- Sustainable mobility: Warwick Grand-Place Brussels is certified “Bike Friendly” and provides suitable infrastructure for guests traveling by bicycle, actively supporting sustainable modes of transport.

Training and Awareness

Warwick Grand-Place Brussels invests in the continuous training of its staff to promote a culture of environmental responsibility. Regular training sessions are organized to raise awareness of environmental challenges and prepare employees to apply sustainable practices in their daily work. In partnership with the City of Brussels, we also actively encourage staff to use sustainable modes of transport such as cycling and public transportation.

Certification and Monitoring

We are committed to an annual audit to measure our progress and adjust our strategies accordingly. The Green Committee, composed of key members from different departments, oversees the implementation of actions and regularly evaluates the effectiveness of the initiatives.

Conclusion

Warwick Grand-Place Brussels positions itself as a responsible player in the Brussels hospitality sector, striving to make its operations as sustainable as possible. We are proud of our commitment to tourism that is more respectful of the environment and society. Thanks to the dedication of our team and strong partnerships with local stakeholders, we continue to improve our practices within a sustainable development approach.

This environmental policy was approved by the entire Green Committee on December 18, 2025.
