The General Manager is the face and driving force of Hotel Barsey by Warwick. They set and lead the hotel’s strategy, deliver an outstanding guest experience and are accountable for its commercial and financial performance, in line with Warwick Hotels & Resorts standards.
Key responsibilities
Guest experience and operations
- Deliver a refined, personal guest experience at every touchpoint (rooms, bar & restaurant, events).
- Oversee all departments: front office, housekeeping, F&B, maintenance, sales and events.
- Monitor online reputation and guest satisfaction, and lead the right action plans.
Commercial and financial performance
- Build and manage the annual budget and P&L, with strong cost control and a focus on profitability.
- Set the sales and revenue strategy with the relevant teams (RevPAR, ADR, occupancy).
- Actively grow leisure, corporate and events business, and develop the hotel’s local network.
- Work with group marketing to strengthen the hotel’s visibility and reputation.
Leadership and people
- Recruit, lead, develop and retain an engaged team.
- Build a culture of service, ownership and respect.
- Ensure compliance with Belgian labour law and internal procedures.
Representation and reporting
- Represent the hotel with guests, partners, owners and local stakeholders.
- Report regularly to regional management.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and regulatory requirements.
Your profile
- Proven experience as a General Manager or Hotel Manager, ideally in upscale or boutique hospitality.
- Strong commercial acumen and financial management skills (P&L, budgeting, revenue management).
- An inspiring, hands-on leader who stays close to the team.
- A natural sense of service and guest relations.
- Entrepreneurial, autonomous and decisive.
- Fluent in French and English; Dutch is an asset.
- Knowledge of the Brussels market is a plus.
