What Is There to Do in Geneva?

The historic city has plenty to entertain visitors with some outstanding natural scenery provided by the city's lake and the nearby Alps. Lake Geneva – or Lac Léman as the locals refer to it – is huge and resembles a sea rather than a freshwater body. Baby-Plage is a great place to stop by the lake for a beach-like experience. You can even take a dip by the time springtime comes around – many locals swim in the lake regularly. Elsewhere, the gardens of Parc de La Perle du Lac on the north bank or the Jardin Anglais on the south side provide even more natural wonder.

Beyond the Lake, Geneva's Old Town is full of restaurants and bars which are often frequented by locals as well as visitors. St. Peter's Cathedral is at the heart of this historic neighbourhood and many cobbled lanes lead off from it. Place Bourg-de-Four is worth a visit for its bustling atmosphere. Not far from the Old Town is the so-called Bains District which used to house public baths in the past. Today, this area is known for its contemporary art scene. The Centre d'Art Contemporain as well as numerous exhibition venues, including MAMCO, a modern art gallery which occupies the site of a former factory, are dotted around this part of the city. On the north side of the lake, the International Museum of the Red Cross and Red Crescent gives insights into Geneva's unique role in world history while Tavel House is a one-off museum that helps to place the city's mediaeval past into a better context.

Staying at the Warwick Geneva in Spring

Located on Rue de Lausanne, the Warwick Geneva is positioned centrally, right next to the Geneva's main railway station, Gare de Genève. This location is ideal for those travelling by rail or transferring to the city centre from the airport by train, of course. It is also only about five minutes to the lake by foot. From the hotel's superb vantage point, amazing views of Lake Geneva and the Old Town – just 15 minutes walk away - beyond it can be obtained. They're best enjoyed by booking one of our rooftop terrace suites from where the city's most iconic sight, the Jet d'Eau fountain, can easily be seen.

All of the rooms at the Warwick Geneva exude elegance. For example, the spacious guest rooms all come with their own marble bathrooms while the artful interiors are boosted by numerous contemporary design touches here and there. The lobby features a stunning spiral staircase and internal balcony while our restaurant, Téséo, as well as our bar are the perfect places to unwind after a day's sightseeing in a remarkably vibrant city.

Sustainability at the Warwick Geneva

The Swisstainable label isn't given to any establishment that wants to promote its sustainable credentials. This is why it has been such an honour for the Warwick Geneva to be given this award. This label only applies to establishments that have shown true care for the environment. In the case of the Warwick Geneva, this is demonstrated by our use of cutting-edge and eco-friendly technology by SageGlass©, Saint-Gobain which reduces our carbon footprint considerably. It allows for effective climate controls with floor-to-ceiling windows that are also soundproof, helping guests to enjoy a relaxing time whenever they choose to stay.
